eggs!

My husband and I hosted our first Easter and I wanted to make something unique and pretty for a centerpiece. I really wanted to buy one of the Easter trees that I saw in Hallmark, but they were priced somewhat out of my range. So I got an idea. I would make one. And I envisioned it. And then I saw my vision in the March issue of Better Homes and Gardens. But I PROMISE I envisioned it before seeing that issue! So much for "unique".

Anyways, my creation can be seen above. The vase is IKEA, and was less than $5. The eggs are real, and instead of blowing them, I took a drill to them and washed them out with water, then dyed them with food coloring- they are almost "Tiffany blue". I used yellow ribbon and pink paper flowers, both from Wal-Mart, under $5. So with the sticks and the leftover spray paint I found around the house, I had a pretty cool "Easter tree" for merely $12. Not bad!

aprons!

These are pictures from an apron I made for my friend, Kate. I have made several different types of aprons, including a John Deere apron for a friend who owns and lives on a farm. I have plans to make more aprons, including a bright multicolored apron and also a cat apron. Lemme know what you think about the design, style and details. And of course, if you want an apron.

cakes!

I like crafting and cooking. Since cake decoration technically falls between both categories, I LOVE making cakes. Here are just a few cakes that I have baked in the last couple of months. If you ever need a cake for a party, birthday or wedding, please think of me as a resource. I LOVE to make cakes, my cakes taste great, and I never charge a lot!
